Singer-songwriter Halsey is expanding her talents into screenwriting as she develops a dark comedy TV series titled “Bloodlust” for Amazon Prime Video. Halsey, also known as Ashley Frangipane, will take on the roles of creator, writer, and executive producer for the show, which will not feature her as an actress. Renowned director Ti West will helm the project and serve as an executive producer, alongside Mark Friedman and Anthony Li. The plot details of the series are being kept confidential, although it has been in the works at Amazon for some time.
The collaboration between Halsey and West marks a reunion, as West recently worked on the horror film “MaXXXine,” where Halsey had a role. Halsey has made appearances in various productions, including “A Star Is Born,” the Showtime series “Roadies,” and the animated series “Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?” On the other hand, West has an impressive portfolio of horror films under his belt, such as “The House of the Devil” and “The Innkeepers.”
Aside from her acting pursuits, Halsey is widely recognized for her successful music career, having released several hit albums. Similarly, West has a strong background in writing and directing horror films. Halsey is represented by UTA and The Lede Company, while West is represented by CAA, LBI Entertainment, and Lichter Grossman. Friedman is represented by UTA and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
