The NFL remains unfazed by the recent allegations against rapper Jay-Z, as Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that their relationship with him has not changed. Goodell addressed the civil allegations against Jay-Z, who was accused of being involved in a rape incident at a party back in 2000. Despite the ongoing litigation, the NFL is maintaining its partnership with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company, which has been actively involved in producing events and promoting social justice initiatives for the league since 2019.
Goodell praised Roc Nation for their contributions to various NFL events and initiatives, emphasizing their role in advancing social justice causes. He also mentioned that Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé, is set to perform at the halftime show of the upcoming Ravens-Texans game on Christmas. In response to the allegations, Jay-Z vehemently denied any involvement and criticized the claims as part of an extortion scheme. His lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the claim and reveal the accuser’s identity, labeling the allegations as a ploy for financial gain rather than seeking justice for victims of sexual violence.
