On December 22, 2024, the halls of Ramsgate Arts Primary School were filled with festive cheer as students, teachers, and families came together to celebrate the holiday season in style.
Nativity Plays and Shows:
The little stars of the school shone brightly during the nativity plays and shows. The Reception classes wowed the audience with their performances of Christmas songs and dances, showcasing their talents and hard work. Meanwhile, the Year 1 group beautifully retold the traditional nativity tale, capturing the essence of the season.
Early Years Festivities:
The Early Years group immersed themselves in a range of festive activities. From creating Christmas trees to crafting cardboard tube reindeers and decorating baubles, they embraced the spirit of the holidays. The children even had a chance to post letters to Santa, visit an in-school grotto, and be entertained by mischievous elves spreading joy throughout the classrooms.
Outdoor Adventures:
The Reception group embarked on an enchanting journey to Manor House forest school at Quex Park in Birchington. Here, they enjoyed a magical Christmas character trail, crafted decorations from tree slices, visited a farm, met Father Christmas himself, and toasted marshmallows over an open fire. Additionally, families got involved in making decorative wreaths to add to the festive ambiance.
Creative Performances:
Years 3 and 4 transported their parents through time with a ‘Timewarp Christmas’ performance featuring classic holiday songs that delighted all ages. Key Stage 2 students immersed themselves in traditional pantomime fun at Granville Theatre in Ramsgate with a captivating production of Peter Pan that brought magic and mayhem alive on stage.
Community Engagement:
RAPS Year 6 pupils ventured out to Corner House community hub in Ramsgate where they delved into The Bible’s portrayal of the Christmas story. They explored themes like gratitude during Christmas time while engaging in activities such as decorating gingerbread men and participating in a lively Christmas rap session organized by Active Christianity in Thanet Schools group.
A Heartwarming Conclusion:
Head of School Nick Budge expressed his delight at how the school community wholeheartedly embraced the festive season through various events including nativities, music performances, trips, fairs, parties – all supported by enthusiastic families who contributed to creating a memorable RAPS community Christmas experience for everyone involved.
